An Unconventional Fascination
I’ve always had a soft spot for the overlooked and the understated wonders of the natural world. While many people gravitate towards fluffy, feathered, or finned companions, my gaze has increasingly been drawn to the slower, more deliberate inhabitants of our planet. And let me tell you, snails possess an amazing, quiet wonder all their own.
For years, the thought of owning a snail never crossed my mind. But over the last few years, a quiet curiosity has blossomed into a full-blown fascination. Perhaps it's their serene movements, their intricate shells, or their surprisingly complex needs, but I'm completely captivated.
Diving Headfirst into the World of GALS
So, here I am, on the cusp of welcoming some of these incredible creatures into my life. And just like any good pet owner, I'm starting at the very beginning: research, research, research!
This blog, Morbid Morsels, isn't just a place for my upcoming snail food products (more on that exciting venture soon!). It's also going to be my personal journal as I navigate the fascinating, sometimes surprising, and occasionally quirky world of snail keeping.
I'm currently diving deep into:
- Understanding what’s truly needed to provide a thriving environment for GALS – from terrarium setup to humidity and temperature.
- Exploring different species to see which magnificent mollusc will be the best fit for my home and lifestyle. There's so much more variety than I ever imagined!
